I recently switched to CovaU after spending far too much time comparing electricity plans for my solar and battery setup, and so far I've been extremely happy with them. I actually built a spreadsheet comparing CovaU, GloBird and several other retailers using my own usage and export figures. For my setup, CovaU came out on top. What surprised me is how little people seem to talk about them. I'm in QLD and my plan has a daily supply charge of around $1.52, a 5c/kWh feed in tariff all day and 15c/kWh between 6pm and 9pm. That evening FIT is particularly useful with a battery because I can store solar during the day and export some during the higher-paying evening period. I'm also on SolarMax, which works brilliantly with a battery. Being able to top up the battery from the grid from 11am to 2pm for FREE is great on cloudy or rainy days. It means a poor solar day doesn't leave me short overnight. I've configured my battery to export during the 6–9pm peak period to help offset my daily supply charge and so far the numbers are working exactly as I'd hoped. Customer service has also been excellent. Every time I've called I've spoken to someone within about a minute, and the staff actually understood my questions and knew their products rather than simply reading from a script. Obviously everyone's usage, solar, battery and location are different, so do your own comparison. But if you have solar, particularly with a battery, I think CovaU is definitely worth considering. So far I'm very happy I switched and happily recommend them. Their referral offer also gives both the new customer and existing customer "me" a $50 account credit, which is a nice bonus.

CovaU Energy is an Australian electricity and gas retailer serving households across several states and territories, positioning itself around competitive pricing, flexible energy plans, customer support and practical account-management features. For consumers comparing electricity providers, it offers a credible alternative to the largest incumbent brands, particularly where its local tariff structure is competitive. Its referral program is refreshingly simple. Eligible existing customers can share a unique referral link, and when a new customer successfully switches to a qualifying residential electricity offer, both the referrer and the new customer can receive a $50 reward. There is no need to decipher a complicated points system, which makes the incentive easy to understand and potentially worthwhile for households already considering a switch. External customer feedback is another positive signal. Recent reviews frequently highlight helpful and professional support, smooth onboarding, responsive issue resolution and competitive pricing. CovaU also offers customer rewards and online account tools that add practical value beyond the core electricity or gas supply. The main caveat is important: energy pricing is highly dependent on location, consumption profile, plan structure and subsequent rate changes. Some customers have reported unexpected increases or billing frustrations, so the sensible approach is to compare the complete tariff, fees and current conditions before switching rather than relying on headline savings alone. Overall, CovaU presents a strong combination of competitive energy retailing, accessible customer service and a clear referral proposition, with enough positive external evidence to merit serious consideration. — The Rebel Marketer
