Flashfood addresses two everyday problems at once: the rising cost of groceries and the unnecessary disposal of food that can still be enjoyed. The app connects shoppers with discounted surplus products at participating grocery stores. Customers can browse available items, purchase them through the app and collect their order locally. That makes the service particularly interesting for budget-conscious households, flexible meal planners and people who want their purchasing decisions to help reduce food waste. The referral programme is straightforward. An eligible new customer receives a $5 credit on a first qualifying purchase of at least $15, and the referrer receives a $5 credit after that purchase is confirmed. Customer feedback on major app marketplaces is very positive overall, particularly around savings and product discovery. The main limitations are local store participation, changing inventory, product shelf life and occasional pickup or refund difficulties. Flashfood is not a replacement for every grocery purchase.
